How to paint wood

Wood is one of the most beautiful, strong and elegant materials, that the nature has given to us. Therefore it is right protect it. Italcrom has thought to this, creating a special line for wood in order to maintain intact qualities and colors. To paint the wood allows to restore the aesthetic aspect of the support, to conserve it in the time and to protect from the damages of the time.

First of all, it must analyze support characteristics. The main parameter to estimate is the humidity degree: to paint too much humid supports can produce bad results, because the osmotic phenomenon that is produced, could give a fast degeneration and create the split of the applied varnish film and quite the handmade cuold decay.

The choice of tools

The tools to obtaine a good result are: ovals paint-brushes from different measures, spatula, sponge, abrasive paper with medium/thin graine, adhesive track, clean rags and old newspaper.

How to prepare paint brush

Before to use, put the paint.brushes in the water for 30 minutes. After, to wash them with water and soap, wash them again and squeeze. Then, to put them in the diluent and to squeeze.

Before to apply every product, the surface mast be smooth and compact. If it were not therefore, it's necessary to coat with stucco the imperfections or to remove, rubbing down or stripping the varnish layers.

To obtain a best result: don't wet paint-brush in the can, to drain it in order to eliminate the product excess and to spread the varnish abundantly, then conforming it in horizontal and vertical sense.

... wood with enamel finishes

For supports made of wood with enamel fnish, it's necessary to coat with stucco some imnperfections and holes with our Stucco Sintetico a Spatola s.507. To rub down, then, dust. To apply one hand of our paint Italpac s.701 and after it's possible to use an enamel (Lait s.223, Ideal Nuova Formula s.219). 

Filler – transpirant

Wood Line s. 115 – Tintometric System product

It's an odorless filler, realized in order to protec new or old wood, for inside and outside use. It is produced transparent and colorated. It can be used as preparation or finish with very good results. It concurs to leave the (venature) wood unchanged, thanks to use of pigments made of transparent iron oxide. It does not contain mercury, pond and tetraclorofenolo but it's equally a good fungicide, fights against wood-worm, and it's particularly strong against mold and insects.

Varnishes - not transpirant

Flatting 561 lucida s. 190

It's a gliceroftalica transparent varnish for outside and inside use for the protection of wood. It has good expansion and elasticity and it is high resistant to atmospheric agents. This product is available to paint doors, windows, under roof, beams and every structures made of wood.

It's a gliceroftalica transparent varnish for outside and inside use for the protection of wood.

Flatting per imbarcazioni s. 109
It's an oleuretanic transparent varnish for outside and inside use. It is brillant and high resistance. Thanks to its elasticity is available to finish and protect wood when you want high performances (as for paint boats or structures in sea and mountaine atmosphere.

Paints

Italpac s. 701
Opaque paint, based on solvent, with high adhesion, filling and rubbing down. Good as priming to paint wood, masonite, plaster and chalk. It could be a very good anchorage for enamel and paint water based.

Italbianco s. 702
Opaque paint, based on solvent, to use as priming to paint wood, masonite, wooden shaving and plaster.

Enamel

Hycoat s. 283 – Tintometric System product

Acrilic water based enamel,odorless, it's suitable to protect iron, wood, galvanized surfaces, wall already dealt. it is formulated in order to answer to the requirement to replace the traditional products, solvent based, with with ecological solutions, water based.   Characterized from good brilliance in the time, good resistance of the white point and not inflammability.

Lait s. 213 – Lait satinato s.240 – Tintometric System product

Synthetic enamel with high covering, odorless. It's suitable to resolve every type of problems for finishing on wood or iron. In the versions brillant and opaque, it's resistent to light, it has easy to apply with paint brush. Labeled like non-toxic in function of CEE directive n.77/728 and follows, being free from chromium and aromatic solvents.

Ideal Nuova Formula s. 219 – Tintometric System product

Plastic solvent for outside, odorless, with high covering power. It's suitable in order to make finish of wood and iron surfaces. Its brillant colours protect and decorate every kind of support.

Smalto “e mi diverto…” s.241

Synthetic enamel, odorless, with high covering power. It has much elaticity and a vaste range of brillant colours. It's easy to apply. For its features, it's a very good solution on wood, iron, wall. It's available to make small jobs in order to restore or give the last touch on our daily thing.

Vernice oro s. 708
Decorative enamel, based on bronze in powder, very good in order to decorate or gild surfaces made of wood or iron.

Navale Mec s. 223
Navale Mec 65 is compound of oleosynthetic resins and selected pigments which gives to the support good time of life, good aspect. It's easy to apply and fast drying. It's suitable to finish surfaces on iron or wood, outside and inside, for not aggressive atmosphere.

Pittura all'olio di lino s. 730
